Congratulations to Eloy City Hall for being recognized as a 2021 RED Award finalist!
City of Eloy Town Hall | Eloy, Arizona
The Eloy City Hall project has been nominated for the 2021 Real Estate and Development Awards in Arizona by AZRE Magazine. The category the building is nominated in is for office projects that are smaller than 100,000 square feet. The RED Awards are prestigious awards in Arizona’s commercial real estate industry that recognize top brokers, architects, contractors, developers, engineers, and projects of the year.
Eloy’s new City Hall spans across approximately 18,000 square feet and is home to the finance and community development departments, as well as the city administration, council chambers, and a community room. The building’s design is a collaboration between the city staff, project designer SmithGroup, and contractor CORE Construction. Their goal was to create a “living room for the community” that blends style and function to enhance day-to-day operations while promoting efficiency among staff.
The new City Hall site fronts the “Central Green,” a small park in the middle of the city, creating a centralized building that fosters enhanced services to customers while promoting staff efficiency. The building’s design demonstrates the city’s continued commitment to downtown Eloy. Eloy City Hall houses administrative functions, including a new state-of-the-art council chamber, community development, and finance departments. It also features dedicated indoor-outdoor community spaces and retail space totaling approximately 19,000 SF.
The building’s landscape design embraces the Sonoran Desert, featuring donated saguaros, signage, and lighting that create a sustainable and dramatic focus for the community. The building’s design sets a tone for the new vision of the downtown area, which includes a newly renovated public safety building. Mayor Micah Powell expressed gratitude and humility for the nomination, acknowledging the significant effort, cost, and commitment the city has invested in the building for its residents.
EPS Group provided civil engineering, survey, and land planning services for this project.
