The EPS Group landscape architecture team completed the landscape design services for the two-mile urban streetscape section from Queen Creek to South Stone Avenue on each side of the roadway along US 60. By using native and low-water-use plantings, the design focus to create a welcoming feeling entrance for both vehicles and pedestrians at the gateway of the Town of Superior. Corten metal and gabion sculptures where placed at the gateway pedestrian node to reflect the mining history of the town. The decorative paving, colorful plantings, and gabion base benches at the pedestrian nod provide a unique and welcoming place for people who pass to visit and explore or for the local residents of the Town of Superior.
